Happy (late) Easter, I hope none of you got pranked too hard, or at least got the "April Fools" following the always classic "I'm pregnant, please call" text. March saw the release of Veiled's debut LP, and the bringing on board of Hericide and The Anxiety Effect. Our part is still being kept close to the chest, but we also got some heavy news regarding the upcoming Millvale Music Festival! Read more about that stuff in our March recap below!
You can tune in to The Cutting Edge every day from 9am-10, 2pm-3, and 7pm-8 for one hour of the sharpest new metal tracks in the Pittsburgh metal scene.

We're into April and still experiencing weather appropriate for the release of Veiled's debut full-length album Black Celestial Orbs, which was released on Iron Bonehead Productions. They recorded the album at The Grey Studios in Stockhold, Sweden alongside producer Heljarmadr (Dark Funeral) and it came out sounding great. I picked up a copy of the grey/black splatter vinyl, and not only does it look great, the package came with a really high quality lyric booklet and a poster! Check them out and grab a copy at one of their upcoming shows, including a spot on the upcoming Millvale Music Festival!
Reign of Z
Last month we saw them release a music video for "Whispers in the Walls," and a just this past week they've taken to the studio to crank out what I hope to be another killer track or two! You'll be hearing it/them here as soon as we have them. They were also announced as one of the bands playing this year's Millvale Music Festival!
The punk/thrash group has been working towards a partnership with the newly reformed Combat Records, and it looks like they've made it onto the label's very first Combat: Bullets compilation! It's be out on April 6th, but is available for pre-order now.
The Anxiety Effect
We just brought the Bradford,PA based metal group The Anxiety Effect into rotation, with the inclusion of their latest single "The Fall" added in this month's Cutting Edge Playlist. The song was mixed, mastered, and co-produced by Ben Schigel at Spider Studios, best known for his work with Chimera and Drowning Pool.
The Morgantown, WV blackened death metal group Hericide was brought into rotation this month with a couple songs off of their latest release Stone the Oppressors.
I'm not sure if I should even bother trying to explain this one. Listen to their original music under the name Klaymore, if this doesn't turn you off them entirely. Hell, it might even turn you onto them in ways that leave you questioning some things.
