October Recap

 Arcane Haven

This month we brought Pittsburgh melodic metalcore band Arcane Haven into rotation. They just released their latest self-titled full length back in September. Check out their music video "Hollow Bodies" and lyric video for "Phoenix Down." We have both of those tracks feature in this month's Cutting Edge, as well as a few others in regular rotation.

Nullity

Pittsburgh metalcore band Nullity released their newest album Unrecognizable back on October 19th. Check out their video for "Tastes Like Blood," we have it and the title track featured in this month's Cutting Edge!

NeverWake

The boys in NeverWake have been hard at work on the follow-up to their Incinerate EP. With the video of "Are you In There" we get the first peak at what they have been up to.

Alter the Design

Hard rock group Alter the Design released the first single off their upcoming EP Undivided, Feathers. Check out the lyric video here, and listen for it on this month's Cutting Edge!

Oceans to Ash

"Control Mechanism" is the newest song from the alternative metal group Oceans to Ash. This is the second publicly released song from the band and continues to show promise. Check out this new one and the title track on Bandcamp and this month's Cutting Edge, and come out to see them on the 24th!

Greywalker

These guys never stop! This month steel city thrash band Greywalker released a guitar playthrough for "Beyond the Glow." Witness the riffs, and watch in awe. This has become my favorite track off of Beyond Control, the album is a jam from start to finish though. Also check out their videos for "Dark Waters," "Without Control," "Pity Capsule," and "In The Face of the Abyss."

Dethlehem

Follow Grimshaw as he seeks out Bovice The Paladin and helps him complete his studies of the sacred tomes so they can continue on their adventures. But, where is Brom? #MOTED

Halberd

Just in time for the holidays, and Castlevanie season 2 on Netflix, Halberd gave us a heavy metal cover of the Castlevania video game's song 'Wicked Child." They also recently set up a Patreon account, so if you like what you hear then be sure to check it out to support the channel. Hear their original music on The Metal Edge under the name Klaymore.

Sanctuary

Halloween came and went, and we partied the whole way through it. If you missed the sh1ow or want to relive those memories head on over to our Facebook page, because we streamed each of the sets: 9 Stitch Method, Winter's Descent, and Arcane Haven. Obviously enough, the Moth & Lamp couples costume won the costume contest. Check out the next Crucible Project show this month, The Harvest featuring Conflict Cycle, Oceans to Ash, and Transcendence.

Brewtal Beer Fest

This was the second year of attending Brewtal Beer Fest for me. Last year was such an event, I knew I had to make it again. For the most part, I had a great time. The band selection was pretty solid, and the both stages sounded excellent. The venue was packed from the very start. I would have preferred more locals on the bill, but we're obviously a little biased there. The day did start off a little sour for me though, with doors opening a half hour late, giving very little time to explore the venue and start tasting before the music began. It would have been nice to have that full hour (I was one of the first 10 in line). That and whoever was wanding down people at the door made a quip about getting in early and I about laughed in their face for their cluelessness. The local stage was a lot of fun, but it must have been running a little early, leading me to miss a portion of Greywalker's set. The selection of breweries was awesome though, and encouraged moving around the venue and exploring.
